Found something for parents who want their kids to grow up to be archaeeologists.
It was in the educational section of a toy store. Have forgotten the actual brand name; but essentially, you might call it "A Find~In~A~Box".
This toy was comprised of:
{1} a box of dirt*
{2} a replica of an archaeological find {your choice of a clay pot, a dinosaur skull, etc.*} buried within
{3} the tools to "preserve" your find.
And my first thought was, Cool!!! It's about time. Who can I buy this for?
Second thought, ...if I just turn my head slightly, will I see that the next toy on this shelf is a box containing {1} fish {2} a barrel & {3} a 12-gauge shotgun?
Sorry to be a killjoy. Still think it's a cool toy & am happy that someone thought to do it; but it seems to me that finding something is only a tiny part of the whole fascinating process...

* ... or, perhaps, faux dirt ~ some sort of pasteurized dirt substitute of which even the most fastidious parents could approve.
* ...musket ball? :)
