You may now address me as

She Who Sleeps Between Naps

The coffee gods may frown upon me for this, but I have to say it: I think I have had my fill of coffee.

Maybe it was the horrid coffee at work; maybe it was the unriddable scale in the coffeemaker at home; maybe it was the fact that, despite those two previous facts, I still drank up to three cups of coffee a day.

Whatever the reason, I have cause to believe my body is beginning to reject the caffeine implants... and now I need something non-caffeinated to replace the sipping habit.

Y'know what I think it's gonna be?

A nice warm cuppa hi-fat milk.

One little 18% dairy creamer, plus hot water, plus one Mousehat, equals a relatively more placid Mousehat. This is good for all parties concerned.

*sigh* I'll miss the excitement & romance of coffee... but I'm beginning to see what the cats see in a nice little saucer of "cafe au lait sans cafe"...

An Odor of Homebaked Sanctity

The Opiate of the People is Now Available as an Aromatherapy Treatment
Coming Soon to a Spa~cum~Religious~Retreat Near You

What would Jesus smell like? Well, now we know.*

Using religion to pimp products... ah well, at least it's a refreshing change from sex.

What kills me is that it's described as being sold through the American version of Ikea. Which of course isn't the same as being sold through Ikea, but... now I just can't help imagining a row of condemned prisoners trudging up to Golgotha shouldering flat~pack crucifixes which, upon arrival, they then have to assemble with an Alan key, with the help of some rather gruesome pictogram instructions. And then during the bit where they hum, "always look on the bright side of life" it segues into an Ikea commercial for home lighting.

* Reeks of commitment. I can't wait for the Christ Almighty! aftershave. Wear your Jesus scent strongly, as a good christian ought! And then anybody who walks into a room you've just left will whiff the air and say, "Phew! Was Jesus just in here?"

My Small~Town Roots Are Showing

"Classic Kiss photo up for auction" says the headline.

And I, of course, assumed they meant this:

... that's classic, isn't it?

Fun Fact: Did you know Gene Simmons was originally born Chaim Witz? After his parents separated, the family emigrated to New York where he was renamed Eugene Klein.

The Year of a Thousand Words

FOR USE BY THOSE WHO HAVE NEVER TRAVELLED IN LANDS BEYOND
HAVE YOUR PASSPORT READY

My dear friend has just given me the most wonderful present: a year's supply of Flickr! :)

Of course, if you’ve ever gotten a surprise package you can imagine how puzzled and excited Edgar Mousehat was; and if you’ve never gotten one, pay close attention, because someday you might.

my eye

"I don’t think it’s my birthday,' Ed puzzled, 'and Christmas must be months away, and I haven’t been outstandingly good, or even good at all." (Ed had to admit this even to himself.) *

I'm very much looking forward to using it.
And that, I think, is really the best gift one can give ~ the looking forward.
Thank~you, my dear friend.
